How do you choose the size?
Every person’s lashline and eye shape are different. Each set is customizable, however the length and thickness is chosen with integrity to be sure your natural lashes will not be damaged and that you will receive the best retention of the extensions. Examples of styles are welcome, however please keep in mind even using the same style and lengths will generate a different look because of your unique features.
What are the aftercare steps?
The most important piece to remember is not to rub your eyes or pull out the extensions. This is what can cause damage to the natural lashes as well as premature fallout of the extensions. If you sleep on your side, you may see more extensions falling out on that eye. If you are a face sleeper, an extension-safe eye mask is recommended to keep your lashes looking beautiful.
All extensions are waterproof and it’s important you are cleansing your lashes daily with an oil free eye cleanser or professional eyelash extension cleanser which can be bought in studio. Extensions can hold debris from daily pollutants and also cause oil build up which will break down the adhesive. This is to keep up with hygiene and also avoid any infections around the eyes.
Oil-free products around the eyes are necessary as oil is what breaks down the adhesive. Stay away from pencil kohl eyeliners, cream eyeshadows, heavy eye cream at the lash line (especially at night) and serums are recommended to be used in the daytime so the oils have time to seep into the skin before you lay your head to rest on a pillow. Absolutely no mascara should be worn on top of the lashes. If mascara is placed on the extensions, the set is not able to be filled and a payment of a removal + full set will be necessary for your next service.
Because of the extension fibres, it is possible for extensions to be singed by extreme heat. Using caution when firing up the BBQ, or opening the oven is recommended. Be careful with lighters that the heat is not too close to your lashes. If there does become some singed lashes, these can be popped off at the fill as long as the damage is minor. You may feel pulling brushing through your lashes if this happens, as the tips will melt together.
Basically, try not to touch them and make sure to cleanse them!
When do I come for fills?
Extensions should be filled at the very least every 4 weeks. If you would like to keep your lashes looking crisp and clean 2 week fills are recommended. Lashes must be 50% full to be considered a fill. Keep in mind the lash growth cycle is forever changing in our body chemistry and there are multiple factors to take into account when working with the lash growth cycle (using hormonal prescriptions, pregnancy, stress, seasonal allergies, etc). Extensions will shed with your natural lashes and you may see a few shedding without a natural lash attached due to wear and tear and natural oils. It’s normal to see 10 lashes fall out a day, as we lose on average 5-10 lashes per day per eye- you just tend to see them more with a dark black extension on them! Please book in advance if you desire a certain time slot.
